Pastor Austin preached from 2 Samuel 22–23 in a sermon titled “When Distress Comes.” Through David’s words of praise and reflection, we are reminded that even in times of trouble, we can trust in the Lord and find hope in His promises.
The sermon highlighted three things to remember when distress comes. First, we can call upon the Lord because He is our God. He is our strength, our refuge, and the One who hears us when we cry out to Him. Second, we can rest in His eternal covenant. Even when life is difficult, God remains faithful to His promises. Lastly, we can worship in and after our distress. No matter what we face, we can praise God for who He is and for His faithfulness to us.
This message reminds us that distress does not have to lead us to despair. We can call on God, rest in His promises, and continue to worship Him through every season of life.
