Pastor Austin preached from 2 Samuel 15 in a sermon titled “The Unselfish Kingdom of God.” Through the story of Absalom’s rebellion against David, the message showed the difference between living for ourselves and living under the rule of God.
The sermon focused on two kingdoms. First, the kingdom of selfishness. Absalom sought his own position, power, and glory, showing how selfish desires can lead us away from God and hurt those around us. Second, the kingdom of God. God calls His people to live differently—to put Him first, serve others, and trust His rule instead of seeking our own glory.
This message challenged us to examine which kingdom we are living for. Rather than building our own kingdom, we are called to surrender to God and faithfully live for His kingdom.
