Pastor Austin preached from 2 Samuel 19–21 in a sermon titled “The King We Need.” Through the events surrounding David’s return as king, the message showed us that we need more than an earthly king—we need the perfect King who can truly meet our greatest needs.
The sermon focused on four things we need from our King. First, we need a merciful King. Second, we need a unifying King who brings His people together. Third, we need a satisfying King who is enough for His people. Finally, we need a victorious King who conquers our enemies and secures victory for His people.
This message reminds us that Jesus is the King we truly need. He is merciful, He unites His people, He satisfies our hearts, and He is victorious. Our hope is found in trusting and following Him as our King.
