Pastor Austin preached from 2 Samuel 10–12 in a sermon titled “The Imperfect King.” Through the story of David, the message showed that even a good and chosen king is still imperfect and in need of God’s grace.
The sermon focused on two important truths. First, the king who sins. David’s actions in these chapters remind us that sin can affect anyone, no matter their position or success. David sinned against God and others, showing us the seriousness of sin and our need for repentance.
Second, the King who removes sin. David points us to Jesus, the perfect King who came to do what David could not. Jesus lived a sinless life and gave His life to remove the sin of His people, bringing forgiveness and restoration.
This message reminded the church that our hope is not found in imperfect people or earthly kings, but in Jesus, the perfect King who removes our sin and saves His people.
